Vintage Ice Cube Trays

My vintage ice cube trays get a lot of use on hot, summer days.

It’s rare that I have leftover coffee in the morning – but when I do, I freeze it. Then, when temperatures soar and I’m whining like a third grader, I pacify myself with a cold treat.

My go-to is a mocha milkshake that I make in the blender with my coffee cubes and ice cream. This yummy Deep Dark Chocolate ice cream from Turkey Hill is my current favorite!

If I happen to be out of ice cream, I use milk, a spoonful or two of Hershey’s Unsweetened Cocoa and a generous splash of International Delight Cold Stone Sweet Cream to sweeten the deal. Oh honey, let me tell you – it’s delicious!

Keep your eyes open for these vintage aluminum ice cube trays at the flea market. You can usually find these kitschy cuties between $5 – $10.

Stay cool out there, friends!

I was bitten by the collecting bug about 30 years ago and love to incorporate vintage finds into my decorating. I get a kick inviting friends into my home (in person or online) to see things from the good old days that bring back memories.
My hope is that Whimsybop will inspire others to see the beauty in old forgotten things, and to give second-hand treasures new life again.
