My Bowling Ball Collection

I didn’t set out to start a BOWLING BALL collection – honest.

I only wanted a few to make my I Spy Garden look a little sillier. You know, like random giant Willy Wonka lollipops growing out of the ground.

Now I’m the proud owner of 30 of these babies.  Some are given to me, like these amazing red ones my mom found on her recent trip to Ohio.

And some just jump into my shopping cart at the thrift store when I’m not looking. Zoiks, (those little stinkers), I need to be more alert.20171128_170406

They’re like little forgotten orphans who need someone to love them. And so I take them home with me, but only if the price is right.

Outside of the thrift store they are usually too expensive for my goofy needs. Unless they are under $5 they have to stay on the shelf…sorry!

My husband, the retired Marine, doesn’t quite know what to do with me. He likes things neat and tidy…and I continue to rock his world.

God knew that he would need me to chill him out and I’m doing just that…one bowling ball at a time!

I was bitten by the collecting bug about 30 years ago and love to incorporate vintage finds into my decorating. I get a kick inviting friends into my home (in person or online) to see things from the good old days that bring back memories.
My hope is that Whimsybop will inspire others to see the beauty in old forgotten things, and to give second-hand treasures new life again.
