Hey there! I’m TJ Foster and I live in an old house in Virginia that I affectionately call “Whimsybop!”
I’ve been a vintage collector for over thirty years, and my favorite thing to do is take photos of my collections and turn them into nifty products. (You can find them HERE in my Redbubble shop.)
Besides going on vintage treasure hunts, I enjoy taking flat-lay photographs. I have a blast creating I SPY search-and-find puzzles using my vintage collections. You can see a few samples here on my home page, and on Instagram @whimsybopper where I post a new I SPY photo every Saturday morning.
I’m thrilled to announce that my photographs can now be seen on the back cover of brainPLAY magazine by Highlights for Children! (Thank you KK & PG!!)

Fun Facts about Whimsybop:
- The house was built in 1875 and our family is incredibly blessed to be the 5th owners/caretakers of this beautiful piece of history.
- The house has two staircases, seven fireplaces, a butler’s pantry, four bathrooms, and eleven rooms. In other words, there is ALWAYS something to clean around here.
- I have over 100 vintage suitcases stacked throughout the house (and none are empty.)
- There are at least 130 collections on display at Whimsybop from Pyrex dishware, cameras, and globes, to postcards, radios, bowling balls, and old nostalgic toys. Which is my favorite? Hmmm, that’s a tough one – probably the metal lunch boxes from my childhood.
- When our family moved here in 2009 I joked that we’d turn the house into a Bed and Breakfast someday when the kids left home. We’ve been empty nesters for several years now, but my dear husband still hasn’t warmed up to the idea (but Whimsybop Inn remains a secret dream of mine).
- Whimsybop.com started as a blog where I wrote about our home renovations, d.i.y. stuff, and collecting. Now I mostly write on Instagram @whimsybopper – count to ten then come find me!
